Why this is the right formula
Writing =B2+B3+B4+B5+B6 gives the same answer today and breaks the moment somebody inserts a row for a new month — the chain simply skips it. SUM takes a range, so an inserted row inside B2:B6 is picked up automatically. That difference is why SUM exists at all.
